Express Entry

Express Entry is the Canadian immigration system used to manage and process applications for permanent residence under three main economic immigration programs:

  1. Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP): For skilled workers with foreign work experience who want to immigrate to Canada permanently.

  2. Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP): For skilled tradespeople with work experience in a specific trade who want to immigrate to Canada permanently.

  3. Canadian Experience Class (CEC): For individuals with skilled work experience in Canada who wish to become permanent residents.

Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)

The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) is one of Canada’s three main economic immigration programs managed through the Express Entry system. It is designed to attract skilled foreign workers with valuable work experience, education, and language proficiency in either English or French to contribute to Canada’s labor market and economy. To be eligible for the FSWP, applicants must meet specific criteria, including having at least one year of continuous full-time or equivalent part-time work experience in a skilled occupation listed in Canada’s National Occupational Classification (NOC), a valid job offer, or be an international student currently studying in Canada or a temporary resident with eligible work experience in Canada. Candidates are awarded points based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability, with higher-scoring candidates receiving Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residency in regular Express Entry draws. Successful applicants and their accompanying family members can become permanent residents of Canada, enjoying various benefits and opportunities for integration into Canadian society.

Canada Experienced Class

The Canada Experience Class (CEC) is one of Canada’s federal economic immigration programs managed through the Express Entry system. It is designed for foreign workers who have gained skilled work experience in Canada and wish to become permanent residents.

To be eligible for the Canada Experience Class, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Work Experience: Have at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years before applying. The work experience must be in a National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Type 0, Skill Level A, or Skill Level B occupation.

  2. Language Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in either English or French by taking a language test recognized by the Canadian government.

  3. Plan to Live Outside Quebec: Intend to live in any Canadian province or territory except for Quebec, as Quebec has its own immigration selection process.

  4. Meet the Required Conditions: Adhere to any other conditions set by the Canadian government for eligibility.

Candidates who meet these eligibility requirements can apply through the Express Entry system and will be ranked based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The CRS assigns points for various factors, including age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability.

Regularly, the Canadian government conducts Express Entry draws, inviting candidates with the highest CRS scores to apply for permanent residence under the Canada Experience Class or other economic immigration programs.

Successful applicants and their accompanying family members can become permanent residents of Canada, allowing them to live, work, study, and enjoy the benefits of Canadian society, with the potential to apply for Canadian citizenship in the future.
